Cranes: Promise of What is to Come
The Kimball, consists of a series of cylindrical vaults with skylights, masterfully designed by Louis Kahn to disperse natural light down the walls of the galleries. The Museum’s holdings range in period from antiquity to the 20th century including European masterpieces and important collections of Egyptian, Near Eastern, Greek, and Roman antiquities, as well as Asian, Mesoamerican, and African arts. You can view some of the collection here. Permanent Collection
An addition is currently being built to house an auditorium, education facilities and a special exhibition gallery, allowing the original building to house the permanent collection.

Our visit to the Kimball began with lunch in their buffet-style cafe. The food was excellent and the company superb. Clatus, inspired by the art we had seen, decided to create artwork using materials at hand.
He came up with a piece that was simple and brilliant in design. We all discussed names, like "25 to Six" or "Two Faces" but the artist preferred to stay with a simple name that reflected its minimalist design, leaving the interpretation up to the viewer.

There was a lovely little courtyard with a fountain off one of the galleries where
I found some interesting shadows to capture with my point and shoot digital.
